The 'shithole' part is completely unbecoming of the president, but it's the wider context of what he said that is the issue (the former is merely a distraction). It's the fact that people from these 'shithole' countries need to justify themselves in ways that other people don't. "Why are those people coming over here?" Even in the slim possibility that this isn't his intention, it plays right into the hands of the more unsavory elements in the country. This pretty much, and I'm not sure why people seem to ignore that and focus on the country being a shithole or not.
