It was alright, but did anyone else think it was about 3 hours too long?

it got good when the battle started, but I agree it started slow af. and there were some moments that were supposed to be touching, but weren't really earned so it just felt weird, like:

when they get to the planet to start the attack, Jyn gives droid guy a gun, and droid says "Gee Jyn, keep doing shit that's unexpected," but up to that point she hasn't done a single unexpected thing, nor has she really meaningfully engaged with the droid, so there was no reason for him to say that and I was just left scratching my head. Like maybe there were some more scenes of her being nice to him that got cut.

also at the end we literally see some ships lightspeed into a bigger ship adn just blow up...so which is canon!? Is it an insta-win kamakaze attack or a useless stupid thing?

I feel like they made this 2 hour movie, then when they were done, they were like, "Anyone else think that was pretty boring?"

"Yeah, let's put a scene where Darth Vader kills some rebels at the end."

You mean when Vader shows up? His ship jumped out of lightspeed right in front of the Rebel ships that weren't making the jump yet so they crashed into his ships at normal speed with its shields up

I liked it and I'm not even a star wars fan. Of course I did it see it on a plane but no regrets.

I think both are canon. It's probably just whatever the movie thinks will look cooler for it tbh
