Knowing that there's zero chance of anything happening is what keeps it funny. Neither participant is remotely interested in going to war and even leftist sources note that the odds of it happening are infinitely less than people think (contrary to their own scaremongering at times)

Are you seriously comparing military bluster -- which all presidents engage in, to some degree (albeit not always with humor) -- to mocking handicapped children purely for lulz? Otherwise, you're using the spoiler system wrong, you're using the term "outraged" wrong, you apparently read previous discussions wrong, etc.

idk, making fun of handicapped children goes a lot beyond "unprofessionalism." As for the White House Correspondents dinner, that was non-controversial -- as always -- except for the fact it may have been the final push that got Trump to win.... so Obama's final legacy was helping to put Trump in office.

They won't. They have no reason to. I mean, I guess Trump could be dumb enough to start something, but I think even he (and, more importantly, his advisors) recognize that starting a war on the Korean penninsula would be a catastrophe.

And Kim doesn't want war either - he wants survival. All that he's doing with these nukes is making himself more of a threat to take out. He knows he can't count on China's protection anymore, so this is his way of saying "If something happens to me, there will be unsecured nukes floating around and if anyone's dumb enough to start something, I'll kill 20 million people before you can get to me." Bluster to the contrary, he's not actually interested in fighting the US; he's interested in deterring everyone from attempting any regime change.

You mean the manufactroversy where Erik P claimed to have a photo of the two meeting which confirmed that Trump knew the man was handicapped? Otherwise the claim is based around Trump gesturing when talking about somebody, something Trump does all the time. And, of course, Trump criticized the reporter for his critical coverage(ie, exactly the same he's done to other reporters). Remind me what handicapped kids did to Obama?

@Mead Again, go to ANY speech where Trump mocks somebody while using exaggerated hand movements and body gestures. If you can't think of any examples, you've never watched a Trump speech. Otherwise, what's your alternate theory here exactly? That Trump went out of his way to research a person, dig up videos about him (ones that may not even exist) which he studied, and then used them to mock him? For what end, exactly? And you can also explain why this time and this time only is different from all of the other time he gestured while mocking somebody.

Trump gesticulates non-stop. It's like saying that you've never heard Trump ramble off-point. C'mon, son.

I don't watch any politician's speeches, much less Trump's, so it would actually be a lie to say I've seen him speak beyond the occasional soundbyte.

That being said, I've never said that Trump doesn't gesture a lot. I don't think anyone in this topic is challenging that. I'm simply pointing out that I'm not aware of him making gestures that look like he's mocking a disabled reporter at any point except where he was mocking a disabled reporter.

But if you actually watch Trump's speeches, then by all means, prove me wrong. I've already admitted my knowledge on Trump's gesturing is far from encyclopedic.

If it seems like I'm trying to push an agenda, it's because I am. He needs to be stopped, so the more attention I can draw to his failings, the better. As for "manufacturing a controversy", Trump is the last person in the universe I would need to do that with; he is highly adept at creating them on his own.

It's funny that Zues keeps using this example of handicapped children with Obama, almost knowing that the example of Trump mocking the reporter would be brought up. I wonder if he gets off on being humiliated about Trump. After all, Trump supporters have a pretty big persecution complex and can just tell themselves the big evil libruls are trying to keep them down!

Anyways, the regular lack of professionalism goes well beyond that. Trump doesn't even talk/tweet like an intelligent person in general... not just the content, but the odd sentence structures and frequent spelling errors. Again, what's the alternative claim here? That Trump not only knew that the man was disabled but that he studied videos of him (which likely don't exist in the first place) in detail so he could know how to imitate him? Occam's Razor cuts through your bullshit argument. Trump constantly gestures, especially when mocking people. There's nothing here to suggest that it was unique and I have to question your motives if you're buying into this manufactroversy.

Then your agenda and method both suck, especially given that you cite measurable evidence instead of taking the route of the people whose viewpoints you're parroting have enough sense to claim "immeasurable damage" so they don't have to prove shit, a judgment that you apparently lack (most likely because you're parroting their views rather than holding your own). Your entire approach is emblematic of the partisan hackery which has divided our nation for roughly 20 years now.
