They are kinda fun but Id rather shoot a rifle. I found crossbows to be very intrusive. Yeah theyre fun to shoot a few bolts in a backyard. But going out in the wilderness, not so much. A longbow or rifle is just so much easier to carry, especially going into the deep woods for a 3-5 day hunt. You do know those mass produced compound bows are more efficient in transferring energy and are also fitted specifically to the user, right? You can adjust draw weight and length on any decent youth bow. I really dont see why you keep throwing out the meant to match the shooters size and weight, blah blah blah like that is something special. I stand by the fact that 90% of 8yr old girls can not pull back a bow strong enough to kill a deer, at least not ethically or legally. Another reason I doubt your claim is because most states have already had their gun season and are coming up on muzzle loader season. Archery season started months ago. I know some people still prefer archery but those are also people who have usually already finished hunting by now. Its not impossible...just a lot of things that add up to a somewhat hard to believe story. Especially with how often people on CE lie about pointless shit. Im well aware of how much more efficient a crossbow is. I just never liked lugging them around on deep hunts. No shit bow season was months ago. However, doesnt apply to natives hunting on private land.
