I would consider it a form of a shit test. A simple way to weed out the weak beta-males who aren't confident enough to aggressively pursue. It's certainly possible, but...

1. I already know, through first-hand experience, that it is often a lie
2. I have no quick and easy way to determine who is lying and who isn't
3. There is zero benefit in me assuming it to be true, and a lot of benefit in assuming that it is a lie

So why on Earth would I assume it to be true?

A woman who admits to wanting sex on Tinder is seen as a glorified fleshlight to men. She exists to have sex with them and any less than that is robbery, or at least a direct insult to their humanity, worse than an IRL slap in the face.
