You step 30 minutes out of a big city and you see the real people, for better or worse.

What makes those people more real than those in the city?

Richard Spencer is dog excrement. And of course the media uses him as the beacon for the other legit non-racist pundits who want nothing to do with his movement. For a big movement, that guy sure doesn't know how to sell tickets to his talks! I was told that movement was the most dangerous thing facing our civilization.

I'm not saying they're worse off or better off. Just that there is a disconnect with big city types and the citizens who don't live in big cities. I guess "real" isn't the correct word, but average citizen might be? I was just going with the figure of speech when people say "this is the real America/Canada", which would typically refer to small towns and rural areas, natural geography, the heartland, etc.

I've lived in a small town (50,000), big (1 mill) and big big (2.8 mill, 6+ metro). There are pros and cons to all of them!

It's weird how the majority doesn't live in real America. Rural real America isn't even 20% of the population. Guess everyone is just pretending.

One white supremacist agreeing with another white supremcists factually inaccurate bullshit that has already been disproven... yep, must be CE

Not only did these fools argue earlier claiming white nationalism is reasonable, they're now doubling down. Remarkable really.

As for the alt right it's something that was embraced by a lot of Trump fans early on and was fully endorsed by Breitbart, reaching its peak probably during the whole "Establishment GOP guide to the alt right" written by Milo. Mind you this was while emails revealed that Milo was in direct contact with multiple white supremacists. All of which was endorsed by Bannon and the Mercers.

And then Charlottesville and a literal neo Nazi march designed to "unite the right" happened resulting in a murder of a girl and numerous other attacks and people completely disavowed the term and pretended they never embraced it or defended places like The Daily fucking Stormer as "free speech satire". As if people aren't going to remember the hateful shit they said or stood along side with.

Its kind of hard to make that argument when more people live in metro areas than rural.

Nobody disagrees that the alt right is a racist and disgusting group of people.

What people disagree on is when liberals like to pretend every conservative is a Hitler-loving member of the alt right.

Only when they use politics, religion or otherwise to oppress people they deem lesser than themselves, I would imagine.

I've been subscribed to him for a while. One in a blue moon I'll check out his videos. His content is usually light on content since it's more about his joyous reactions and laughter over the loony left. Refreshing to look at all this stuff with a humorous more light-hearted outlook, as serious and concerning as it all is. You've got to laugh now and then.

What an absurd case of whataboutism.

No argument? Not surprising.

From what I've read, Chappelle didn't actually say anything racist. He just said that poor white people were misguided for thinking trump represents them and has their best interests in mind. Better?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt-right#Ties_to_white_nationalism

White supremacist[1][49][50][51] Richard Spencer coined the term in 2010 in reference to a movement centered on white nationalism and has been accused by some media publications of doing so to excuse overt racism, white supremacism and neo-Nazism.[2][4][52][53][54] Spencer has described the alt-right as ?identity politics for white Americans and for Europeans around the world".[55]

While the label of white nationalism is disputed by some political commentators including Allum Bokhari and Milo Yiannopoulos,[56] alt-right figures such as Andrew Anglin of neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer and Marcus Halberstram of Fash the Nation have embraced the term as the core philosophy their movement is based on.[57][58] In response to a Washington Post article that portrayed the movement as "offensiveness for the sake of offensiveness", Anglin said: "No it isn't. The goal is to ethnically cleanse White nations of non-Whites and establish an authoritarian government. Many people also believe that the Jews should be exterminated".[59][60]

Well you should go listen to it instead of just reading about it.

Anyway the point is not to shit on dave, rather that trying label people who aren't racist as racists based on singular quotes is stupid and a waste of time.

I'll watch it at some point. The alt right guy is racist though and I don't need the second or two that I based it on, so let those 1-2 seconds go to waste. Fuck it.
