Damn. That was a pretty good movie. It was weird hearing Will Smith curse again and shoot a bunch of dudes like he was back in "Bad Boys."

I loved the concept and how magic was real abd shit goes crazy after they find the qand and Smith hoses his four cop buddies.

I was not a fan of the ending too much though. I get they were going for comedic value, but it felt overly drawnout for little laughs.

Lastly, I didn't feel like the racism alagory was too over the top. I felt like it fit within the confindes of the movie and didn't take me out of it.

Anyone see it? If so, what did you think?

Average movie. I enjoyed it but probably would never watch it again. I saw a lot of people online calling it complete trash tho

I liked it. Some good dialogue, I cared about the characters, and there was solid world building.

That's the vibe I got from the preview. Good to know it follows through. Kinda Shadowrun in a contemporary setting? I may give it a watch eventually.

Yeah, I liked how they handled their characterization. It's a good example of showing a lot with only a little (the background characters, I mean).

I'm confused at how it's getting crushed on rotten tomatoes. It was pretty entertaining.

The audience score is usually what I look at. Check out The Last Jedi.

Could be just me though.

Audience score for Will Smith movies can be a little deceptive, given that people irrationally love the guy. That being said, I enjoyed Bright. Just a competently made buddy cop movie. Got me to reinstall Shadowrun: Dragonfall too.

It was well done as a buddy cop for sure. I review music for a music review website, and even I don't care what critics say because a lot of the time they'll say why it's bad but never give constructive criticism. Like, what sucks for you I might find awesome. You didn't like it cause it was Lethal Weapon with magic? Fine. But I love both of those things so bring it on!

Loved it.

As a huge Shadowrun fan, I went in full well knowing that it's NOT Shadowrun, don't get hung up on the differences, but enjoy the inspiration and see where they go.

A little too much focus on speaking in Orkish/Elvish, and the fact that they walked away without all sorts of injuries from the crash kind of bothered me, but it was solid. I really liked it.

Comparatively to Shadowrun, it's 'Now', instead of Shadowrun's '60 years in the future', and it focuses on the cultural and social issues of magic and different races, instead of the corps vs. everybody else.

First 45 minutes or so was extremely good I thought, way better than the vast majority of mainstream money makers out recently. Really cool setting and atmosphere and well done by actors and production crew. Just having Lord of the Rings type shit in modern LA was really entertaining for a fantasy fan like me. But then I thought the movie turned into a pretty average story. Still good though.

Also, kinda weird how one of Will Smiths more interesting performances will only be seen on Netflix. At least for now. I mean, I know hes not as popular as he once was but dude is a superstar in acting.

Funny, I feel the critic score for both movies sums up my opinions more accurately than the audience.
