Glad to see FE Warriors didn't make the list. Zelda, Mario, Xenoblade 2 and Splatoon are clearly the four best switch games, but since Xenoblade only came out this month it is completely understandable to be lower. Overall, a reasonable list.

I'm (pleasantly) surprised to see Minecraft on there. I guess the idea of having a handheld version of Minecraft is enough to tempt people to buy it even if they have it on other systems already. Hopefully that sentiment also helps other third-party games and convinces more third-party developers to give the Switch a realistic chance.

I'd rather have worse graphics and a full game that runs fine (like Minecraft or Skyrim) than only slightly worse graphics but a game that runs like total shit (like WWE 2K) or has a bunch of game modes cut out (like FIFA) due to laziness.

I only own the top four games, so I guess that's a good thing.

I played FE Warriors and the lack of content really doesn't do it any favors. There is an absolutely pathetic amount of movesets in it.

I'm surprised both it and Steamworld Dig 2 didn't make it. As far as I know both games sold well. I guess these just sold even more.

If the list was eShop only maybe they'd make it.

Plus, lots of fans were pissed about the character choices too. Lyn and Celica being the only reps from FE games besides Shadow Dragon, Awakening and Fates was such an unbelievably awful decision.

the game was fun but character variety killed it. So many characters were clones of each other and vital options were lacking from the start. Additionally a disproportionate amount of characters were sword users.

Whats even lazier though is the story. Slight spoilers but They need five generic magic orbs like usual and Fates get 3 for Xander, Ryoma, and Corrin. Lyn and Celica clearly could have been in the story organically. But that would have meant like 4 more reused stages so they just cram 60% of the story on fates. To be fair its less than the roster slots they gave fates.

There are 4 antagonist and one boss. 3 of those antagonists are dark mages and just use Robin's heavy attacks. Have fun fighting them constantly.

You fight lots of other playable characters that are not mages.

Kind of? In story once you get past fates your done with in fighting and Marth just shows up and villian #4 is another moveset clone. History mode has the other dark sorcerers that didn't make the cut replaced by another dark sorcerer and thats what 5 more fights against mages and mage shadows.

Chrom taking Hectors place in the "he doesn't fight like a lord" conversation was pretty funny though.

Frederick and what 4 fates fights? Ryoma and Xander get possessed by... another evil dark mage.
