He's in the five stages of grief right now. Currently at denial, claiming that Hillary Clinton would have gotten rid of it too.

To be fair, Time Warner -- one of the nation's largest ISPs -- *is* a major Clinton contributor (and its subsidiary, HBO, basically used Last Week Tonight as an anti-Trump propaganda machine to help Hillary out) so it's not entirely out of the question. While she voiced at least some support for it on the campaign trail, she's also big on "public and private stances" as she told people at a private function. That said, "Hillary would have done it too!" isn't the greatest of defenses if you actually disagree with the decision.

You forget that the current head of the FCC was appointed by Obama (promoted by Trump), and Obama tried to get rid of net neutrality too, only backpedaling and turning it into a publicity stunt of saving it after massive backlash.

The FCC head Obama appointed during his presidency was lobbyist for cable companies who also wanted to get rid of net neutrality.

The difference here is they're trying to get rid of net neutrality even with the backlash.

The fight for net neutrality will unfortunately always be a constant one. There is no such thing as winning this battle forever, as ISPs will keep trying to get it removed as long as it's in place (which may not be for much longer).

And? It was wrong to try to get rid of it then and it is wrong to do now. Doesnt matter who the president is at the time.

Where do I say it's not?

This topic is about how the democratic party was somehow more in favor of keeping net neutrality than the republicans, when in truth they've both been trying to get rid of it. The democrats are opposing the removal of net neutrality now, on the basis that it's being supported by the republicans and Trump, not because they wouldn't have done it themselves if a democratic president was in office.
