The ones who spoke english tended to be more uptight and flaky
the ones who spoke english also wanted to leave russia asap
the ones who didnt know english loved russia and wanted me to come

I cant go back to a western dating site with all the crap i have to deal with, im looking up tickets to Russia now as we speak

A guy I know got a mail-order bride from Russia; they have two kids and have been happily married for, iirc, 8 years.

Of course, said mail-order bride from Russia actually came from Mexico - the site was scammy, but I guess it worked.

Theres no "mail order brides" they sign up and pay for a dating site tall and agree to marry, then they meet and get the visa stuff sorted

It's entirely exploitation of people in poor circumstances desperate for any possible way out, so desperate they are willing to do things like marry a stranger and wait it out to get status. but yeah you're right they can potentially say no to that option, some of them anyway

That's why they respond so well: it's their job to get married and will do all it takes. Not out of a desire for a relationship. for safety and security.

Apparently in Russia they do it because women aren't respected in the workforce and successful men tend to migrate out of the country. Other places range from "me and my children are starving" to "I wanted to travel abroad".

I imagine most of it is a scam and, if real women are on the service, at least some of them are sleeper agents. That said, there are a lot of attractive Russian women.
