Nioh is the only game on the list that I've played/finished (not dlc). But damn, I can't believe they selected that boss as "top" anything aside from shitty/sketchy. I took to calling him "spear bitch".

It is confirmed that his whirlwind attack could sometimes glitch the frames, and it would activate instantly instead of having the visual queue for dodging or whatever (at least this was the belief in the community back when I was more active in it). This could one shot plenty of players even on initial difficulty.

Hell I'd rather they'd selected Tachibana or some of the dual boss fights from that game. Tachibana breaks rules established in the game, but it was very satisfying after I'd lost with my high stance heavy axe strat about 50 times.

um, I completed everything on way of samurai, and way of strong, didn't even really have a build on the first difficulty, just kept buffing stamina so I could wear more and stay at B. Oh, and I didn't just sloth the shit out of every boss like you probably did.

Anyway, it's completely acceptable that I didn't go back for the DLC. They have patched the shit out of this game, de-leveled characters, and likely near one thousand balance changes before the DLC was even available for download. Get wrecked chumbucket.

and I'm only on the second area (the caves), and I'm progressing slowly.

Was this the atrocious spider boss at the end where you constantly flipped between the two characters and the boss was a massive bullet sponge? As 9S hacking was always easy and as A2 all you do is dodge the chomp shit and then spam attacks

I didn't think they were bad boss fights, but the constant change in perspective made them disorienting, for me.

the only one of these I've played is cuphead

and while cuphead has some nice bosses, this is definitely not one of them

in fact I'd go so far as saying it's one of the WORST cuphead bosses

so seeing it at such a high spot on the list is baffling
