This is tragic. I don't see any reason why the child should have lost his life here.

So the cop knew he was 15 years old and still met the kid at 12am on a school night after curfew? Yea there was more to this deal than just an Xbox. Drug deal gone wrong?

OMG. One look at that pic, makes me want to kill him myself. One less smug ass fool running around.

Seriously though, let the kid walk away with the xbox, call in police backup and follow him. Still might end up in a shootout but at least you tried.

He's the real victim here. :(

Really though, even justified it must be horrible to know you killed a 15 year old. PLUS you still have an Xbox One X to get rid of.

15 year old out buying an XBone at 12:30 at night. Yeah, I doubt we are getting the actual story.

The first thing that popped into my head was why did they agree to do the transaction so late at night?

Cop was probably a child molester. We'll never know exactly what happened now since he killed the only other witness, but knowingly meeting a minor at that hour is sketchy af and he should be investigated.

No one needed to die over that transaction. The cop could have let the kid go and arrest him later.

And why would a police officer knowingly meet a 15 year old kid well after curfew?

I've sold over 20 different things on CL and none of them gave me any trouble. I Even sold my old car recently for over a few thousand dollars and the transaction went well. My 2nd biggest transaction was over $500 for a camera.

I always follow a few rules when I sell stuff:
- Sell during the day, never at night.
- We need to meet in person and I only accept cash.
- I try to find them on Google, Facebook or LinkedIn first to make sure they're normal people.
- I always meet in a public area, like a busy parking lot or shopping center.

Meeting at 12:30am was the first bad sign for the seller.

in my relatively safe town, "dem yung thuggas" will rob you even at a shopping mall or a parking lot. the police have set up designated "kijiji spots" with video surveillance to make transactions, right on police property. it's a great deterrent for these malfeasants..

That's why I find them on a social network first. LinkedIn because I want to make sure they have a job...if they don't have a job, there's a good chance I won't be contacting them. If they show any kind of shady activity on their Facebook feed, I won't contact them.

I sold a foot massager recently and I let the guy come into my apartment to plug it in and make sure it works. Sometimes, you can't make a transaction at a specific spot, so you have to do your due diligence and make sure the buyer is legit.
