Really is a shame how they kinda spoiled a pretty massive Ragnarok event in a trailer for a future movie, that spoiler being Thor losing his eye.

I get that Ragnarok has been out for a while, but still.

nobody has watched it and i admittedly don't know much about wakandan lore as part of the marvel univers but it feels like the whole "big battle" thing was shoehorned into the movie as a way to advertise black panther as the final lead up to the avengers.

just feels forced at this early point and they'll most likely introduce some type of huge importance as to why the battle has to take place in a location we've only glimpsed so far.

We haven't seen one Infinity Stone yet. It's probably in Wakanda. Why else would Thanos bother with such a large-scale attack?

Loki is kind of like Catwoman in that they serve themselves first and foremost.

However there are some issues with Infinity War as it stands from a comic adaptation.

1. We've had zero screentime for Adam Warlock. Literally all he got was a namedrop in GotG2 and that's it. Most people are probably not going to know who the fuck he is when he shows up and why he's suddenly the most important character.

2. No silver surfer means the comic just straight up can't work.

3. They would have to introduce literally every celestial all in one movie, they can probably skip over galactus but they there are many more big hitters.

So if you're expecting a panel for panel copy of the comic, I wouldn't count on it. It's going to be a wholly original story. It already fails on the grounds of Thanos doesn't already start with the stones so if you've read the comic, I would probably be prepared to not recognize literally anything from it.

it's hard enough to believe two of them were on earth. I very much prefer the guess that Thanos is going after vibranium.

The tessaract was kinda lost there, and the mind stone was brought there by Loki.

Seems pretty obvious to me that Thanos is specifically after Vision. Wakanda's probably just involved to give Panther an excuse to be there, and to keep from repeating a battlefield (NYC, ambiguously Europe, and now Africa)

Like someone else said, I think Loki giving up the space stone was a simple matter of survival for him. He was given one stone to help him gain another and lost both. You know Thanos is going to be slightly pissed about that still.

I'd love to see Loki play a part in Thanos' defeat, honestly. Feign loyalty to him while working against him in the background.

not really, no. two was also pretty ridiculous. a problem caused by making earth such a focus of the series, but an understandable one. especially if the Time stone was moving around. I need to rewatch that movie, but I seem to remember that as a possibility.

The Space stone was on Earth from the time Odin put it there until Avengers. Easily 1000 years
Mind Stone has been on Earth since Avengers
Time Stone has been with the sorcerers since before the Ancient One
Reality Stone was brought to Earth via Jane and then brought back by the Dark Elves

Now, the Mind and Reality aren't exactly the same as the other two, so fine. But the idea that the Space and the Time have just been chilling for a long time just on Earth is bad to me. Having the Soul be yet again another one on Earth is just dumb.

But I mean, it's a comic book movie. Dumb plots are par for the course, so it's not a big deal.

In the Marvel comics Universe isn't Earth the center point of all the multiverse, acting as the sort of keystone holding it all together? Don't they have an in-universe comics explanation for why everything important seems to gravitate towards earth?

i really hope it's not vibranium.

was only a minor plot device as part of cap's shield, made a major plot device in AoU, will most likely feature in black panther "and" return as yet another important element in IW?

that's bad writing even by MCU standards.

I would agree with you except that it's populated only by humans. If it's not Earth then it's a place where only Earthlings go, and that point the issue is the same.
And of course Thor 3 confirms that Strange is just casually wearing it around his neck

I feel like you're confusing the Aether and the Time Stone, because the Aether wasn't on Earth until Jane took it. Bor hid it somewhere else and the Convergence allowed her to get to there.

I thought the Aether was hidden away somewhere off Earth and Jane only found it because the Convergence was opening up invisible portals between worlds everywhere. Thor only comes looking for her because Heimdall suddenly couldn't see her anymore when she went through it.
