Job sucks right now and the people who are afraid to lose their jobs are defending the company to death.

I recently transitioned into a team lead position and all the other leads seem to be completely OK with being totally disorganized and unprepared.

I work at a small local bar & grill and the difference in business each week baffles me. One Saturday I'll have several moments in the day where I'm making 4 meals at once. The next I'll spend 4 of my 6 hours there watching football at the bar counter with my boss because no one comes in.

I'm ok with being busy I just wish there was some rhyme or reason to it.

My new boss is unorganized and careless so me and my co worker are often picking up after her.

At my fulltime job the work is slave labor and for some reason they send all the (colored) people to do certain jobs that are more physically demanding. A trend we noticed happening for awhile that nobody talks about.

Im pretty lucky with my individual jobs, but as a musician, I work a ton of weird, sporadic hours spread throughout the week. Glad I get to make a living doing what I love, but some days I wish I could just get home at 5 and enjoy an evening.

My company provides an alternative to bankruptcy. Weve been around for over 12 years, have A+ ratings and accreditations and people still think they can get a better deal by doing it themselves or filing for BK.

I have people who would clearly benefit from the program (lower balances/no interest/lower monthly payment) and once they feel like theyre in a better position, discard the program. Yo, I brought your 50k debt down to 25, and youd rather pay the 50+interest?

Like today for example. I've been here for an hour and a half. It took about 40 minutes to restock and now I'm just here. We're passed the point of even bothering to look busy and I'm just watching the Steelers game.

Finger pointing. All around. There's enough bureaucracy that everyone is able to pass the blame off to somebody else, and my guys end up getting shit on time and time again. No, it's not the laborers' fault that the steel delivery was late and the project went a day over.

Other job. Same thing. It's not my guys' faults that the band screwed up the verse order and we had the wrong lyrics slides.

Bureaucracy of closing a god damn $1,300 deal (note: this is like the absolute smallest possible deal to close).

For starters, a VP wants to prevent delays in discount approvals above a certain percentage off list price. So he implements a rule where we have to fill in six different lines telling us exactly what we already know based on the opportunity details and price quotes.

So being the 28th (end of the month) and "not wanting any more delays," he blocks my two quotes because I forgot to slide in with the bureaucracy, despite the fact that we previously just had to write one three-letter acronym to justify the discounts (they're bundled together to make a specific price for a reason). You'd think someone "not wanting delays" would be a bit more open to preventing delays...

Another one got blocked because the bundle was supposed to have a specific SKU added to it, but it wasn't there, so I go through quote approval and it goes through fine because the price is fine, but I can't officially close it because the SKU is missing. So I have to go back, make a new quote (because the "clone" button has been broken for months), add the SKU, go through quote approval again, and then close it.

My boss is trying to make us under him responsible for other tasks so we can be held accountable (not just him) in case shit hits the fan.

Sometimes the cafeteria is out of bacon in the morning if our morning meetings run too long. Really pisses off because their bacon is fucking life.

I work in compliance for a collection agency, and we're constantly caught in the middle of fights between production (who, if they got their way, would run the company like a combination of The Wolf of Wall Street and The Purge) and general counsel, who wants to nitpick every single thing until people are too scared to do anything.

It's the same problem I have with every full-time job in general - it takes up too much time. Imagine beating a long RPG every week. Sounds tiresome? Well, that's a full-time job right there. It's not like that whole time is spent doing actual work and everyone knows it. Everyone wastes time at work. Let's just make it official and shorten work hours nationally.

Anyway, something more specific to my current job, I hate that I got moved to another location that doubled my commute. Just makes the time problem that much worse.

Two of my coworkers don't know how to zoom in on their conputers (i.e. ctrl+mouse wheel), one of them has a magnifying glass she uses instead.

My boss likes to have his nose in everything and wants all decisions funneled through him. At the same time, he never gets around to doing the stuff he demands to have go through him. Because of this, the projects I do with like 3 other departments are always on hold because of him.

Its annoying but I've learned not to get too stressed over it. I can only do what I have the access to do. It doesn't make me look bad because my boss is known for this behavior and no one likes him because of it. They don't blame me one bit.

Right now we are finishing up a million dollar + mansion that was getting totally renovated with an additional wing added on the back.

Seems like everyone else is causing problems from a construction guy drilling into one of our wires that hooks up to the cities power to the air conditioning guys needing wires moved because of their messed up way of doing things. Also, one of our guys was blamed and banned from the site for something he didn't do.

Plus, hanging up huge expensive chandeliers is a nerve racking experience. I can't wait for when we have to hang the monstrosity in the two story foyer.

Inefficient, unfair, and never satisfied.

Im on a contract that will end but were not sure when due to protests and tons of bureaucracy so its hard to give a shit. But, its stupid easy for good money. I have not talked to a supervisor in 6 months. I could not show up to work at all and nobody who matters would know.

A bunch of adults come in and prove they haven't grown up passed age 16 mentally. Sitting at a door for 2+ hours while it's not at all busy. Drunks and tough guys that want to start shit. The cigarette smoke constantly in the air. That's just some of it. I'm waiting for my transfer.
