So I could return it to her obviously, which I promptly did.

Now 1. We aren't supposed to have our phones on the floor in the first place, leads included.

2. If she'd been wearing her uniform instead of skinny jeans (which she's been told not to wear multiple times before) it probably wouldn't have fallen out of her pocket in the first place.

3. For someone who is constantly whining about money to everyone in earshot, she was certainly careless about a $1000 piece of tech, not to mention her job potentially (she JUST got wrote up twice in the last two weeks)

...so considering the type of person she is, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when she didn't even say "thanks" to me when I gave it to her.

Moral of the story: Don't help people who don't deserve it in the first place.

Another's behavior isn't an excuse for your own. The moral of the story is you did the right thing; and it's on her if she's getting herself in trouble.

Just get evidence of as much of this as you can and use it as leverage for a promotion. If you do in with faux-concern for policy, it'll look good and you can steal her job. #sith

Uhhh, yes they do. Probably even moreso than regular employees because abuse of power can get you in trouble. Supervisors are never immune to workplace policies. That's not how it works.

Just out of curiosity would you care if that was done to you? I mean personally I've had that done from ex coworkers jokingly that were male. I didn't even care as you know it's a joke. Had they been female I'd have felt the same unless she made it clear it wasn't a joke. Some folk are way to uptight these days.
