I could have put $500 - 1000 in back when it was $80 a bitcoin, but the idea of actually doing that and holding it for this long would be crazy, especially since that would have been like all the money I had at the time.

if you haven't cashed any money out of it yet, you should be concerned

first, if you actually have millions in bitcoin, you can't just cash out your million now can you?
you can cash out $15,000 this month only
correct?

see, there is more to worry about than the volatility of the demand for the coin

not saying it isn't worthy in investing, but it still has many compounding risks

so no, I don't regret it

only thing I would regret is the impossible, that is if I spent $5 on coins back in 2010-2011 I would have millions now

thing is, don't think I knew what bitcoin was back then

I think it wasn't until later that most people started hearing about it

You would have had about $97,500. If you invested 1,000 then and kept it until now.

I heard different exchanges allow you to cash out a different amount. You can put your coins into 5+ different exchanges and withdraw them all at once. It is recommended since if you withdraw it all from one spot something could go wrong and you lose everything.

see this is what I mean when I said there is compounding risks

that sounds pretty scary

also I read an article about a guy who would have had 3 million in coins but his exchange shut down and he lost it all

but that was a few years ago I think, maybe 2015? and his exchange was mtgo

so yea, we could argue he just wasn't smart

but then again.....
you never know...

New to cryptocurrency here. You guys think it's still worth investing, say $200, into bitcoin or any other coin?

Yes. People will tell you different coins. They'll tell you either bitcoin, litecoin, eretheum. Go to coinbase website and start an account. You can buy all 3 from there.

My only regret is not listening to that Donut guy who can't be named here anymore. He sometimes give bad advice like invest in Neblio but when he is right it pays off. I didn't listen to him 3 times. He said bitcoin would rise back after the dip. During the dip bitcoin cash was going to explode and after the dip NEO would explode. I didn't listen to all three and could have made at least $5,000. FML

I need to just say fuck it and take a chance on this crypto thing the worst thing that happens is I lost 50% and pull out best case scenario I make a profit.

Not really, I'm a pretty cautious investor and I don't really throw a bunch of money into something I don't really understand. I make good yearly returns on my money, I'm not really looking for get rich quick endeavours.

Even if I did invest in bitcoin I probably would have sold it off way before it got to where it is now, I think I'd be more regretful of that then not touching it at all oddly enough lol

Not really. Investing is always a game of chicken with your money. Missing out on bitcoin is no different than missing out on google or any other stock that rocketed up. It happens, and if I spent my life wondering what could have been, I'd probably go crazy.

Somewhat, because I could be pretty wealthy atm. Honestly, I have a hard time gambling to that degree though. I'd rather not freak out about the price constantly.

But it took Google years to get where it was now. In one year alone bitcoin went up 1000% in value. That's the main difference

Not really. The decision was the same at the start: "Do I invest in this thing with potential or not?" If you find it too risky, there's no point in lingering over the fact that it skyrocketed, because there's tons of investment opportunities like that. There's a whole category nicknamed "penny stocks" which are basically chances at making it big if you invest enough and you get lucky.
