Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was my first thought too. The first game wasn't really super lighthearted or anything, but the second one just flew off the deep end

Mortal Kombat!
I mean, the first tournament was on Earth with bright skies and sunshine. But Shao Kahn doesn't take the L very well and our heroes had go to Outworld. First thing that came to mind was Jak & Daxter.
