As much as anything, I'm pleased the acapella singing from the beginning of the game came back in the credits.

I really enjoyed the game at the beginning as a walking simulator and at the end as an action-packed FPS. The middle of the game has some pacing issues, but I thought they still handled the story-side pretty well during its times when it was like listen-now-attack-now-listen-now-attack. I don't really love FPSs nowadays, but I do enjoy getting melee-heavy gear that lets me burn or possess people after smacking them with my rail-rider.

I played the whole game looking for its KING LEAR reference I heard about and never came across it. Drats! I know it's tiny and I predict it's a voxophone...still mad I missed it since I collected like sixty of them.

Rapture returning + "I'm both" = never saw this ending coming. Well done. I was sure I would fight Songbird at some point. Wasn't there a trailer suggesting a fight with it at one point? Instead though, we partnered up...at least that was cool. Still processing the ending and therefore the game in general.

I'm gonna need more time before I compare it to the original BioShock. I never played BS2 and probably won't (tried a few minutes and unfairly nope'd my way out 'cuz I don't handle scariness in games well), so I don't know what references I could have missed there.

Gorgeous game that bookended well, just got a little tiresome in the middle.

I liked that game a lot.

I think it gets a bad rap

This.

Also

My daughter was still a newborn when I played it and the ending ripped the very core out of me as it was perfectly timed for that stage of my life I guess

I also enjoyed it. Fun enough and enjoyed the story. Especially the whole theme of constants and variables.

Never finished that last DLC though.

It's an interesting experience. I think it reaches for the stars and doesn't get there, although I prefer a game that tries than a game that plays it safe.

It makes the way the Twins insult you for thinking you can hit them even funnier

I wasted so much ammo on them the first time I could attack them because I didn't realize they weren't enemies from the distance between us.

Anybody got opinions on DLC? pj likes Return to Rapture and my brother likes Burial at Sea, but he also says the DLC exposes its plotholes even further and I don't know if I like BSI enough to risk it on DLC when its ending largely redeemed it for me

I liked Bioshock Infinite quite a bit, but I didn't really care for the DLC. It tries a bit too hard to tie things up into a neat package and arguably makes the story worse as a result.

I loved BSI and I liked the DLC a good amount. It's BSI in BS1 territory.

Don't think about it all too hard and just enjoy the rollercoaster ride.

My friend swears by Burial at Sea. But the best BS dlc will always be Minerva's Den. Unfortunately that's pretty much the only good thing about 2.

Bioshock 2 is great, it's just not the original Bioshock.

It's hard to make a sequel to one of the most magical atmospheric experiences there has ever been, but Bioshock 2 is a good game that manages to improve gameplay over the first in most aspects. It is weighed down by a sluggish first half, but the back portion of the game is top notch. It manages to have a very strong climax, which was a marked improvement over the first game's lackluster finish.

Burial at Sea isn't every good
Second part is pure stealth and meh
It's nice...in terms of aesthetics, seeing Rapture again and many references is cool
But in terms of gameplay this is pretty mediocre
And $15 each is A LOT

I'd gladly pay $30 for Burial at Sea, but then I love the BioShock trilogy (even 2, which might be my second favorite).

The entire trilogy is likely in my Top 15. I can say BSI is in my Top 10. I enjoyed the game too damn much - beat it 4 times on different difficulties, unlocked every achievement, etc. - to have it be held down by 'time travel logic'. I don't value that aspect as much.

BS1 & 2 I need to replay, but I enjoyed BS2 even more than BS1. But then I basically played them back to back and didn't have any of the hype going into 2. It was just 'more of what I love but better and expanded upon'. I enjoyed Big Sisters, playing as a Big Daddy, the latter portion of the game, going back to Rapture, etc.
