There seems to be some idea floating around that as long as you block the bat with your arm as you go in that it's game over, like after the guy hits you he's immobilized. I swear people are imagining a movie scene where you block and come in underneath and stab. The guy with the bat would still be keeping distance while he swung.

Not my idea. Of course the bat guy could strike again. But the knife guy won't just stand there and wait for the next swing either.

And if he charges at me, I will have ample opportunity to land a heavy, downward swing. If that doesn't hit the head rendering him unconscious, it hits neck or shoulder and still handicaps him. So I would favor the bat man if both fighters are skilled enough. Of course if it's a surprise attack I would favor the knife man, but that's adding extra rules to the hypothetical.

Most people would swing a bat at someones head or body, but not me.

One swing of the bat to the legs specifically the knees will bring anyone down. Once they're on the floor its game over.

Lol unless somebody is hopped up on drugs, you aren't walking through a baseball bat swing. It hits any part it will hurt enough to stop you in your tracks, the only way I'd take the knife is if it's a machete or bowie knife, otherwise baseball bat all day every day

This is what I was thinking. If nothing else, the initial force of the impact would be enough to send you falling to the ground while you scream like a little girl.

Another thing I'll point out is the OP never even specified if the blade on the knife was dull or not.

If it's dull it will require more force with your stabs to pierce through the skin and the bat wielder could still kick you in the crotch if the swing happened to miss.
