To be fair I think some of them can still play in the NHL just that they wanted more money/minutes. US was always going to suffer more from the lack of NHL players than Canada.

Mostly that the Canucks were very good around 7 years ago so they had a lot of people around the right age now to be "still pretty good, but not good enough to play an entire NHL season due to age".

I miss those days.

Is there a particular reason why Boston always plays less games than everyone else in the first half of the season? Multiple years now I've noticed that they always have 3-4 games in hand on nearly every other team around this time of year. I tried searching to see if there was an official reason for it but couldn't find anything.

Great win by Saros and the Preds, especially after some Vegas scrub concussed Johansen and got away with it.

Still feel like Nashville is the most complete team in the west.

Saros was beyond awesome in that game. No shame in putting 40-odd goals on net and just getting beaten by a guy standing on his head.

Eh, it's still principal point of contact to the head. And the way it immediately followed Johansen's hit on Neal makes me think it was clearly intentional. I'm not demanding 5 and a game or anything, but I've seen that be given out for less... 2 would have been appropriate though.

Also a little annoyed nobody on Nashville tried to fight him. Or fight Neal because that would be more fun.

Yeah, I was definitely surprised there wasn't a penalty. Game was already really chippy after Emelin's hit on Nosek. I've seen a lot of folks saying it was suspension-worthy, though, which just seems like a massive overreaction.
