What do American tourists often notice about the Philippines? What about when Filipinos return from visiting America -- what impressions do they tend to have?

Filipinos tend to look at the US in awe. But primarily on how high the value of the US Dollars when exchanged to Philippines Peso. They still tend to look at the US to be the prime example of living in a high class environment.

While US tourists tend to visit rural areas in the Philippines, primarily they would think of Rural life in the Philippines and to be idyllic and peaceful, perfect for retirement places for them. It's also a bonus that Filipinos tend to treat caucasian looking people with a childish glee and affection. =P

IMO "tag a log". is more commonly heard than "Tag Along"

But a lot of US tourists I heard can easily speak the word "Tagalog" once they've heard it once. =P

AFAIK, most of the time they are not immigrants, but more like outsourced workers. I have seen mostly engineers, then factory workers, and then lastly domestic helpers. Most Filipinos would aim to immigrate to the US or Canada I think.
