Since Japanese works a lot differently than English, are keyboards there different? Or are they the same Qwertyuiop as ours?

I dream of one day owning a SNES Classic.
I like Gardevoir, just not in that way.

I think it works by combining sounds or something. Chinese is kinda similar.

They're the same with overlaying characters. The lower right corner has a Japanese hiragana on it.

However you can also just type using roman letters. You enter in the text and it will come on the screen as hiragana, then you press spacebar to cycle through possible kanji or katakana ways of writing if you want to change it. There are also a few special Japanese-specific key like one to toggle entering English text or Japanese text.

One more thing, many of the punctuation mark locations are different. For example the apostrophe is over the number 7.

I always remember that one scene from Tomorrow Never Dies when Bond looks at the Chinese keyboard.
