i love the series but it didnt really start getting any depth until in space


i watched from mighty morphing all the way to ninja storm before it fading out of my watch list as i aged
i did see RPM because i heard it was the darkest season of power rangers ever produced.


now im rewatching the entire series and im up to lightspeed rescue

At least Time Force never pretended they were teenagers. They were all supposed to be in their 20s.

Mighty Morphin and Space were the worst offenders. There's one scene were Billy (who is clearly losing his hair by that point) has to stop and tell an alien that he has to ask his parents permission before leaving Earth. It was so bizarre. Then you've got Space were the crew actually has to fly back home to take a High School test.

in space wasnt bad at all
that was literally the only episode that takes place in the school
its briefly mentioned that they graduated off screen
and are living on the space ship by that point so they not only are no longer high schoolers before the half way point but have moved out of their parents houses

and lots of the series have adults as the rangers

lost galaxy (you can argue leo and maya are supposed to be teens but not kendrix kai and daman
lightspeed rescue
time force
wild force (only max was in high school. alyssa was a college student and they were the youngest)
operation overdrive may be best forgotten but its characters were adults
and RPM

I don't know if any of the others ever claimed to be teenagers after mmpr. I know lightspeed rescue in particular they looked adultish (and probably had one of the more hotter rangers ever, especially the yellow one and the pink one)

What were the characters' ages supposed to be? I remember watching Gundam Wing and being baffled as to how any of the pilots could actually be 15 years old.

Since Billy and Trini could both drive early in the first season I would assume they were all meant to be 16 y/o. When the Turbo series began Tommy, Adam, Tanya and Kat were just graduating from Angel Grove High, and Justin was stated to be 12 y/o. So all of Mighty Morphin and Zeo took place in roughly 22-24 months.

When TJ, Cassie, Carlos, and Ashley joined Turbo they were still attending school, and later graduated some time off screen early into In Space. So I'd assume they were 17 when they started as rangers.

there were issues with cassie
like why was she even in angel grove in the first place?
she was heading to a different city to try to be a musician and then one episode alter she is the pink ranger and her and her entire family have relocated to angel grove randomly.
