Do you think Klingons are the perfect character reference to Trump Supporters?

The Highly anticipated Star Trek reboot on CBS have said that the Klingons modeled from TRUMP SUPPORTERS!!

It releases on September 24th that will continue the show's time honoured theme in a comteporary world with a futuristic setting.

It's set 10 years before William Shatner's Captain Kirk and will focus on early relations between the United Federation of Planets and the aggressive Klingon Empire

The update could prove controversial with fans of the 1960s show remembered Klingons and Federation fight as an allegory for the Cold War clash of civilizations between Soviet Union and the freedom loving United States.

The producers however said that Klingons as Trump voters will now represent the current culture war within the US with "isolation" and "racial purity" as big themes

Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman created the show where it is set in 2256 as the Federation and Klingons are in a Cold War standoff

Aaron Harberts said "The Klingons are going to help us to really look at cerrtain sides of ourselves and our country. Isolationism is a big theem. Racial purity is a big theme. The Klingons are not the enemy but they do have a different view on things. It raises big questions: Should we let people in? Do we want change? There's also the question of just because you reach your hand out to someone, do they have to take it?"

These sort of topics were explored in previous series but this one will show the enemies are in an internal war and forces them to examine their ideas and ethical rules of conflict and conduct. It provides a backdrop on how they want to be as a society and that analysis and self-reflection is new for the show.

Gretchen Berg said in times of stress and conflict, it can bring out the best and worst in people but ultimately the best in starfleet officers.

The Walking Dead's Sonequa Martin Green is the title character as she plays Michael Burnham, a Starfleet officer.

Well those are an ancient clan of Klingons recently awoken. While that's a weak justification for the design at least that was modern Klingons can still look like klingons.

So Klingons are devolving to original Star Trek feral warlords?

If you're not looking for any honest discussion, agreement, meeting halfway or middle ground, don't bother arguing with me. Selfish narcissists need not apply.

It is pretty stupid, but Star Trek has always been political and rather petty. At least Gene Roddenberry was.

Roddenberry was always a bit "On The Nose" about issues, so yeah, I see this as classic Trek a bit.
