Hard to believe but it's coming up on the 16th anniversary of 9/11. And another thing what was your primary emotion on 9/11? Was it anger, shock, saddness? Personally mine's was mostly shock what was your primary emotion and where were you when it happened?

freshman year in the high school. it was on the news that morning just walked to school as i normally did.

if the attacks didn't happen, i probably would of been stuck in vegas.

I was in third grade, and these are my distinct memories of that day
- We had a fire drill, and the gym teacher spoke to everyone at the end about how good a job we did getting in line and being quiet or whatever. He mentioned "a tragedy" but didn't say what. I thought a kid had fallen down the stairs or something
- I always watched Pokemon after school, and it wasn't on that day because WB had news coverage. I ended up having to watch the Wild Thornberries. That episode where she gets the last tortoises to fuck.

In school, I think? I don't know, I just know they sent me home with a letter about something one day. I don't even know when I actually found out what happened, nor do I remember what I thought or felt.

Nah, not really. I was at home. Gonna start my first year of college in a couple weeks (ugh, I'm old...). I didn't work until the late afternoon so was sleeping in, and my dad woke me up before he went to bed (he worked third shift) and said a plane had hit the WTC. I just thought basically, "Well, okay...? Foggy out or something?" Didn't think much of it, figured it just hit it and the building was fine, but got up and watched the coverage on the news. As you may recall at first all the reports were it was a small prop plane, so yeah, figured it was either an unfortunate weird accident, or maybe a suicidal pilot, but just a little prop plane so wasn't going to seriously damage the structure and hopefully small number of casualties inside.

And then the second plane hit.

I think shock more than anything. I mean I was sad in theory for the people who were hurt or killed or lost loved ones, and angry at those who did it, but I didn't know anyone personally affected so it was really just shock for quite a while.

I was confused. I didn't really have grasp on what was going on but I knew it was kind of a big deal considering how much it was being talked about on television.

Surprised you could find anything other than news. As I recall almost every single station went to their parent company's news coverage, even Cartoon Network and such.

But for real, I was probably 16 and didn't quite know what was going on and I'm really not sure I even cared to find out what was going on. The word terrorism didn't come into the equation for a little while. The rest of the school day went off like it normally does.

Mostly just thought it was a crazy coincidence that two planes crashed into the towers. I don't remember hearing about the pentagon until later.

Six grade us history with a Vietnam vet teacher. He answered the room phone and then said omg someone just crashed planes into World Trade Center and then he turned the room tv on and we watched the news. I'm pretty sure we got sent home early and I watched about it on the news for a few days

Happened at about 6ish AM here. I was in Jr High. Just got ready for school and my dad was driving me. It was on the radio but I wasn't really paying attention. Then I got to school and everyone was talking about it. Pretty much every class I had put the lesson plan on hold and we just watched the news all day.

I was asleep when it happened. woke up later and saw it on the news. I had just graduated highschool that summer, and was sleeping in that day. watched cnn the rest of the day though when I got up

I went to bed late and was asleep after a long hard night of Final Fantasy VII.

My sis was up early getting ready for he community college classes and woke me up.

She said that some plane and stupid man hit one of the big buildings in NYC.

I watched for awhile and thought the same.

Then I saw the second building get hit (LIVE) and thought maybe it's not some stupid pilot.

Watched both buildings fall.

Watched the chaos, destruction and aftermath for like three days strait on very little sleep.

In 5th grade, taking a spelling test. After everyone finished, our teacher wheeled in a TV because there was live coverage. We watched the second plane hit and both towers collapse live. It was surreal. We also saw the Pentagon wreckage and the fourth plane's crash site.

One of my uncles worked in the Pentagon, so the family was pretty stressed out that day until we heard from him (this was before we all had cellphones).

Me too. I was sleeping and the phone rang. I walked up the stairs to my mom's and she was watching TV and i was like wtf. Then the second plane hit while I was still groggy and my mom was jumping up and down saying "we just saw another plane!" I was still like wtf because I was half asleep.

I was 17.

My account was warned on GameFAQs a day or two before so I couldn't go on CE... I never missed CE as much as on 9/11 I wanted so bad to see what people were saying about it

I was the same way when Princess Diana died. I was mad because EVERY channel was covering that and I couldn't watch my cartoons. Didn't realize what had actually happened until much later.
