Yes, yes it is. Just got back from it, it has some legitimate nightmare fuel.

I'm not going to see it because of the scare, since I don't get scared of movies. I just want to see the story and creepy stuff. I can get creeped out, don't expect to get scared.

I don't get scared either and there are a couple things that got me. Good, well earned jump scares and incredible visuals. And while it's very different from the book, it pays fanservice constantly without ever being distracting.

I know they deviate from the story a bit in how things happen, but it's an adaption and in an adaptation the most important part is to get the heart of the story and characters, which it seems the movie have done.

Oh yeah I'm not complaining. The movie was a masterful adaptation and does the book justice. There are a few things better in the book, but also a few things better in the movie.

I'm going to go see it this evening.
