I played it up to the end of disc 2, but I could not possibly care any less about what was happening so I never beat it. Did not age well and probably the most over rated game of all time.

I perfectly understand the appeal of a turn based, story driven, JRPG. Those are some of my favorite games of all time. Either someone would have to explain why the story/characters/whatever appealed to them SO much on a personal level that they consider it the GOAT RPG, or they just have to admit it's nostalgia. Beat it once, never really had a desire to go back to it. I did do everything though (beat the weapons, gold chocobo, best weapons and armor, master materia for all characters, max levels, etc.)
