physical or digital games bundled with a new console?

i gotta go with physical as digital seems to take up more space than the physical version and considering how much space is devoured by the system's standard OS that's giving you even less space right from the get go

plus it just seems to clash with the sense of collecting and displaying the games You've gotten for said system

you open up the bundle and all you get is the console itself and a slip of paper for the digital copy of the game

it's pretty pathetic honestly from a visual stand point

There is no difference between physical or digital as far as data storage is concerned. It all goes on your HD.

Also, other: I would never buy/have never bought a console bundle.

Digital on launch night, and usually physical for somewhat older games. Digital almost always ensures getting the game as soon as possible (thanks to time zones, Nintendo games always come out three hours early digitally in my area). And in general I like the convenience of having each game on the hard drive, able to switch between at will, and not adding more physical items in my collection to find space for. Over the years all the pre-digital games have added up, and all my drawers are full.

But it's been a bit of time since the game's launch, it's almost always cheaper to get a used physical copy, so I go for that instead.

I imagine a digital bundle would be less heavy for your mom to carry back home to you.

Considering physical bundles have led me to play games I would otherwise never have played (like Jet Set Radio Future), whereas the only digital bundle I've ever bought led me to not even bother downloading the game (I still have the unused activation code for Last of Us on the PS4 around somewhere), and my usual biases against digital media versus physical, I'm going to vote physical.

I fucking loathe the new console trend of forced installs to a hard-drive of moderate size, to the point where you can basically only keep 6-12 games or so "active", and wind up having to delete old games entirely (and then reinstall them if you want to play them again later). It's one of the (many) reasons why I hate that consoles are so desperately trying to be PCs, and adopting most of the worst aspects of PCs while failing to bring in enough advantages to compensate.

I already hate PC gaming in general, and the fact that console manufactures seem determined to make me hate consoles for all the same reasons might be what will ultimately drive me out of gaming entirely.
