He could, but why fight for a few mil that is the highest mma goes when you fought for 100 mil.

I think he'll do 1 or 2 mma fights and retire.

I'm not a fan of his, but lol @ him giving a fuck.

He's a prize fighter first and foremost. All he cares about is his millions upon millions of dollars.

And on TOP of that, he's got such a loyal following that he's sure to be able to cash in as some sort of B-list action film star if he ever had to.

Hell, if they ever got around to making an Expendables 4 you can damn well bet he'd be the main villains number 2 and people would go wild.

I'm not ragging on him, he's done well. I'm just saying, he seems to me like the kind of celebrity who's going to start doing all sorts of crazy shit with his free time to make the tabloids.

just depends on what kind of contract he can negotiate with the UFC's new owners

although I guess the best they could do is offer him some kind of stake in the company, which isn't looking too hot right now

Yeah, I think he's much more likely to try and get into some films more than become a pro wrestler or anything stupid like that.

Hasn't he flat out talked shit about WWE before? He's not desperate like Rousey. And unless he absolutely can't act for shit like her, he should be able to at least get a decent role as some charismatic Irish muscle in the next Fast and Furious or something.

Like his whole damn over the top personality screams being in an Expendables or Fast and Furious.

Obviously he could retire now if he wants, but he's still in demand as a fighter and he's also a public figure. I think it would be really easy for him to transition into doing commentary, hosting gigs, maybe even have his own TV show

They could easily pay him 20-30 million for Diaz 3 or Khabib in Russia. Any other fights he'd be lucky to get 10 million but those are his two money fights and I think he loses both of them. Khabib would maul him.

So your argument is that he'll retire from mma because he doesn't need the money, but will start making tabloid news because he craves attention?

Sounds to me like he'd just keep fighting and stay the biggest UFC star for as long as he can.

No. He said he wanted to fight Khabib in Russia. He also wants to be a billionaire quite badly so he can't quit now.

Maybe, although we still have Bautista's and the like. I think if you're going to transition from an MMA role to a moviestar role, you're going to be typecast as the scary thug character.

The thing is, Conor can easily go into the "loose canon" role or even just "cocky asshole" role, and you don't really need to be huge for that.

Conor has a personality and flamboyance that lends itself to film much better than Rousey had. He's not going to have a lot of range, but he's going to have more than just "big dumb brute", with the proper coaching he could probably be the Irish Statham tbqh.

that may be true in an absolute sense, but idk if it's meaningful

the main thing is that there are very few female action stars that come up that way naturally through the acting world

whereas there are a shitload of male actors ready to fill that position

Even Bautista isn't near the same size he was during his wrestling days. They have all pretty much played tough guys, you are right. I thought Rampage would be different.

they legitimately could not afford to do so imho

their profits are only in the low hundreds of millions a year (and that's recent years, i.e., them making money off of McGregor's multiple 1m+ PPV cards)

if you start paying McGregor 20-30 million even twice a year you're like halving your company-wide profits without even talking about the precedent it would set for other fighters

And none of them have the fucking fanbase that Conor does.

I'm just saying, if he wanted to, he could get roles easily and he'd probably do well in those roles. Who knows if he would even want to do films though.

The idea that he's just going to turn into some Miley Cyrus or whatever and do shit just to get on tabloids when he has much more profitable avenues for attention is dumb.
