whitelisted youtube a while ago to support the people I watch but the last few months have been unbearable with these ads. for fuck's sake, they're on almost every video now.

Supposedly there's a "skip ad" button that does not appear if you have Ad-Block enabled. White listing isn't enough.

I'm using ublock, but I disabled it (and adblock before it) on youtube a while ago.

3. Are you devoted to the normal YT app or would you use an alternative that is perfectly fine at viewing videos, but might not have all the functionality of the normal app?

And Mobile Legends. I swear to fucking god they're cringy as hell.

I make a point of hitting dislike whenever they're not skippable but it happens a lot less if you're signed in, I only have the problem of a lot of extra annoying ads when I'm wasting time at work.

My favorite one is when the real-life shlubby dude appears and gets a bunch of gear dragged and dropped on him so he can turn into a generic CG lightning general. It's so dumb I can't help but laugh at it.

If it is a youtuber you enjoy, tell them about it. I can guarantee you a lot aren't even aware they have unskippable ads on their videos. Youtube turns them on by default for most videos, and it is up to the youtuber to manually disable them.

I recommend rooting to anyone with an Android phone. Among all the cool shit it allows you to do, device-level ad-blocking. Imagine opening up any app and seeing no ads. Ever.

Good deal is an understatement. I'm pretty sure I see that ad between one and two dozen times a day. And that's been for the past couple of weeks. I hope they stop it soon.

I don't know how it's anywhere close to the top grossing apps. It's so bad, and the ads are the worst.
