A lot of oil in the US comes from Texas so that is why you can expect to see higher gas prices for a while.

No new oil refineries in 29 years so if any of them shut down gas prices spike.

It jumped 10c/L here, which is funny, because when the price jumps, its because of something immediate. Also when the price jumps its because of something that happened months ago (or so the oil companies say).
