Fuck all the haters, that was and still is a quality game overall. Well worth 20 bucks or whatever it goes for now and the hate is completely unnecessary.

It's a step back from inFamous 2 imo, but I still liked it. I felt like a asshole for liking that one bad karma moment where you choke the smoke guy to death while his daughter's calling for him.

It was pretty cool when he told the bad lady at the start. He would fight her even if had to throw rocks, and that is how he won.

I was a true hero until that Moment, I didn't feel bad for him at all. Not after what he did. And on every single play thru I do the same thing

never played, don't have ps4. but i heard it sucked compared to 2.

I really enjoyed it, but I never played 2, so maybe I'm not seeing why it's such a step back.

Second Son is a game that lives in the shadow of its predecessor. Like how uncharted 2, assassin's creed 2/4, ocarina of time, gta San Andreas, resident evil 4, final fantasy 7, etc. hold such a lofty position in their respective series in a way that's impossible to follow even if the mechanics age horribly.

Easily the worst in the franchise and the most disappointing after the awesomeness that was 2 and props to Festival of Blood as well.
All the karma choices were black and white, the characters weren't likable or interesting, the world felt kinda boring, etc. I thought First Light or whatever was better than the base game and had a better protagonist.

Honestly I can't imagine playing the first one again from start to finish ever again. 2 is one of the greatest of all time however.

Yeah, First Light was actually good for a standalone. The arena mode was a great addition.
SS just needed more story missions and side missions. I didn't really feel anything when his brother died since you barely get to know him and his death felt pointless.

The variety of powers were awesome in Second Son. I loved using Neon to "super speed" my way around the city.

I liked it a lot. The powers made the traversal the best it ever was in the series. The last power was pretty weak though. It did seem a lot shorter than it should've been. Hopefully there's another one planned, I'm sure it sold well enough.

I'd rank the series 2>SS>1

Second Son is just hated because it's a downgrade from 2. 2 had such a good sandbox, great power selection, more meaningful karma decisions that legitimately seem to affect the story and world, and side missions that didn't feel like copy-paste.

Second Son has pretty graphics and buttery smooth controls (all the titles did, tbh), but has boring side missions and an arguably less likable protagonist. It was still a fun little romp though. First Light was a better package and actually helped me enjoy Neon as a power.

I'll admit that the traversal powers were awesome though.
