so I was looking up a meme I was not familiar with and saw some ads on the site for some f2p game or whatever. I realized I didn't have adblock and started worrying about my computer getting spyware or keylogger or whatever.

if I did, how would I know about this? I don't use any additional anti-virus software besides the default ones on my PC.

I feel so stupid about being this paranoid but it's something I am worrying about. The site itself doesn't look dangerous or anything but then again, I'm not used to those kinds of ads on websites. I simply got too lazy to hop on Chrome and install adblock.

edit: oh yeah, the site is something I found while doing a search on google.

Run Malwarebytes or some kind of anti-malware. If that doesn't pick anything up then you're probably fine.

Usually ads aren't that harmful. Unless you download whatever it's offering you, you aren't in much danger. Installing an ad blocker is recommended.

If you are still paranoid about it, MalwareBytes will give you at least some peace of mind.

I forgot to mention that I accidentally clicked one of those ads xD so that made things worse for me.

my winodws 10 is up to date and everything and i use windows defender (don't know how good it is though).
