I don't normally get upset about stuff, but this really pisses me off. I grew up playing the SNES and I still believe it was the greatest console ever made. I get on the internetz about 15 minutes ago to find out that pre-orders went up at 4 in the #$%&$%& AM today and of course they immediately sold out. C'MON, NINTENDO!! WHY DO YOU HATE US!? Because I'm curious, I looked at ebay....$300-$475 is the going rate thanks to all the $%^#ing scalpers buying up the stock. There is no way I will ever pay that much for something that Nintendo went out of their way to guarantee would be sold out immediately. For a company with such great business acumen, it astounds me that they would screw their customer base like this. We will PAY $$ FOR THIS THING! MAKE MORE THIS TIME! But no, it's just wall to wall disappointment yet again.

I realize I'm not entitled to getting one, and it won't be the end of the world if I don't, but honestly, Nintendo, is it really that hard to just do your fans correct and have enough stock to satisfy the goddamned demand for once?

just camp out on release day (9/29). You should be able to get one if you do your homework and get there early enough. All Targets and Walmarts will have them.

Obviously they feel its a better business decision to artificially increase the rarity thereby increasing the demand. Theyve been thriving off this strategy for years now, it should be expected.

Imagine people spending hundreds of dollars for something that could be found online for literally free, provided you have a computer that is one step above garbage in terms of processing capabilities.

not to mention the fact Id rather buy a real SNES and a few real games for that amount of money

The problem there is not only finding one that's not in bad shape but also having a TV that you can attach it to. Neither of my HDTVs have composite input.

Still $5 more than needs to be spent for any SNES game you could ever want

I don't blame you for being pissed. This has been a colossal fuck up from everyone involved. From the cocksucking scalpers to the shit useless retailers to fucking Nintendo for not manufacturing enough to meet demand.

Was actually referring to those who buy from scalpers, a la "$300-475 on ebay."

But again

$80 is $80 too much

Goodwills near me haven't sold those in at least a year. Have signs up that say they won't take them.

Walmart, Target, Toys R Us. If you really want one that bad then be there early. I have one already pre-ordered but plan on going to one of those to get one more. One for the living room, one for the kids room.

Last time I was at Goodwill near me there had a few.

If not, maybe a pawn shop. They are usually priced at worthless.

I'm bummed I missed out. I came home, had a bunch of beers and passed out last night. The one night I decided not to shitpost all over CE is the night it goes up for preorder lol.

That said, I managed to get an NES classic after they announced it was discontinued by staying on top of brickseek and all of that. I'm sure with a little effort you'll be able to get an SNES.

Ehh. When I grew up we had to call Ticketmaster for concert tickets so I'm used to it. Now this sucks because of bots or whatever else, but it makes it that much better knowing you tried your damnedest and you got it. And if you didn't, fuck, you tried and there's still plenty of opportunities.

But even with all that, this whole nes and snes shit is horrendous and even though I'm getting one I just think their whole process was shit. But a 100% luck of the draw would have been even worse.
