I tried the free hour and was hooked. It seems a bit slow at first and doesn't give you much help figuring anything out, but once you understand it and know what you're doing, it's very hard to stop playing. I am predicting a Civ V style addiction to it, and I don't even enjoy survival/crafting games. One piece of info I found nice: you can play it offline!

Is Conan Unchained a new name for that MMO that started around 2008? I hate the genre, but some guys at work convinced me to go for it, and I ended up having fun. I made a Stygian assassin and just spent my days trolling PK'ers. The best was when they'd get fed up and bring a friend and still lose.

They just put out a 7GB+ patch that has basically fixed everything. It really needed to launch in this condition. I've never seen such a vast improvement in one update.

There is online with or without PVP, but there's almost no structure. Not like an MMO at all, really... The similarities on paper don't resemble each other in practice. It feels like a big survival game.

Yeah, sort of, minus the missions. I loved DQB... The story is told more along the lines of the Souls games, in that you really have to dig for traces of it around the map. Don't take that the wrong way though, the lore isn't as deep or meaningful. There are just a few things sprinkled in and a ton of mystery left to ponder.

I was thinking about trying this, but I have alot of survival/builder games already (just got done playing 7 days to die a bunch for instance).

Still it's on my wishlist/radar.

Was just on sale (might have ended) and was super close to buying it.

It's discounted for the preview period, AFAIK, so it'll be a bit longer still. There's a free one hour trial if you're curious. It really should've been two though, given the scope.
