I'd say no.

Interesting poll results.

I was thinking about "stance on gun control" with the options, but there would be too much trolling if I did. Maybe I'll make a separate poll about that later.

It may just be biased people with experience with guns just clicking more, but I expected some No results in the first ten votes.

Edit: Maybe "do you shoot firearms regularly?" would have been a more interesting question.

I guess fired would have been the more clear/correct way to say it.

The OP can be interpreted as shooting other firearems as targets.

A couple times. Handgun and rifle, just target practice.

I've been thinking about getting a small handgun. I don't live in the best neighborhood, and I've already experienced shit that makes having something for self-defense a good idea. I don't want to but being prepared is more important.

Recently I've been thinking about getting a .22 handgun for plink shooting and getting more familiar with firearms in general.

As many others, I think, I'm a little wary to trust myself with such a tool as of now.

I'm just curious about how exposed to guns people are on CE.

Around 30 percent of Americans have never fired a gun. I'd be curious to see how that overlaps with feelings on gun control.

Yes.

My daughter is almost 6 and I'm currently teaching her weapon safety and shooting fundamentals (we use a bolt action nerf gun rifle.)

When she completely masters the fundamentals I'll get her a bb gun to practice in our backyard. And then a year or two later when she has mastered the fundamentals further I'll take her to a range and let her shoot a 22 rifle.

Awesome. It's great that you are starting her out and I am digging the nerf gun>bb gun>.22 plan. Gun safety doesn't stop at "toy guns," even as an adult.

Yeah. Shooting is probably one of the things I'm best at and teaching her keeps those skilla current. I'm hoping that at some point when she is much older that we can do some father daughter team type shooting competitions.

It's a Shockwave. Came with an ATF letter saying it's legal, so that butt-hurt soccer moms can't pull the he's got a short barrel shoulder thing that goes up 'salt weapon bullshit.

And it's niiiiiice. Slugs are a bit jarring, but you can easily shoot low-brass and most buckshot all day.

Fucking right. That's actually what I am eyeing. How is it as far as self defense uses? Is it easy to get used to as far as follow up shots?

Ah, I didn't buy it with that in mind, but I can see the utility. It's one of the few times I'd actually look into a laser for a firearm. You have to keep it low, so followups can be quick, but it's kinda hard to put two in the exact same spot.

Yea...

As a kid I went hunting.

Then as a teen I learned to shoot while volunteering with a police department and we did pistols, AR15, shotgun, and a submachine gun (think it was a mp5 but not sure. Easily the most fun) yearly.

As an adult I've been to the range a few times with friends and done the big guns in Vegas.
