The Alt-Right/basket of deplorables are a large portion of his base, we shouldn't have been surprised that he'd take so long to "condemn" them.

Antifa and BLM who stormed Emancipation park did not have a permit. There was only one counter-protest group who had a permit for another park, and they stayed there and were peacefully protesting.

Trump did not lie about this. It's so easily provable that Antifa and BLM did not have permits that not even fake news CNN is running with the narrative that they did.
