Aww yeah, it already plays hella faster than Dark Souls II (which sucked). Hopefully the overworld is more interesting than 2's as well and it might be as good as the first!
just killed the first big blue spikey boss and then died to the next knight boss that turns into a big octopus monster.

oh well this game is good too. Blue spiky guy is more of a mini-boss than an actual boss. What kind of build are you going for?

Idk yet. I never bother with actual builds until subsequent playthroughs. The first one I always just use whatever has the best stats and feels the best.

Eh... You might be in for some disappointment. I thought the overworld was the worst in the series.

If you prefer the faster action, you'll probably like DS3 and Bloodborne the most. DS2 didn't feel that slow to me once I raised Adaptability, but it was definitely slower than DS3/BB. I actually preferred it though.

Welp, can't beat that first knight boss lol. Tried like 5 times. Asylum demon was a cinch. I guess this game is harder

I loved DSIII.

Personally Bloodborne is my favorite, but I thought DS3 did a great job of speeding up the gameplay to be closer to BB while still making it feel like DS.

The dude that grows a demon tumor out of his back at the beginning is pretty hard, it might've been because I went Deprived but yeah I had a tough time. I think you're supposed to roll to the right once he transforms

I think Dark Souls 3 was my least favorite. I felt the developers tried to make it too much like Bloodborne.

Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 are tied for my favorite in the series.

the game is a lot more linear than Dark Souls, but its areas tend to be bigger, so that didn't bother me as much.

Are you talking about the Crystal Lizard and Iundex Gundyr? Because the first one isn't a boss, its just a regular enemy.

That's exactly why I disliked DS3 so much. Even though BB was by far my least favorite Souls game, the fast combat at least worked out in BB. You could hit people to recover health, so a shield wasn't necessary.

There's also the poor overworld design and the overabundance of cheap enemies, but its attempt to be too much like BB was my biggest complaint.
