Marijuana legalization is going smoothly in Colorado and Oregon, state officials recently told the Justice Department as it prepares for a shift in federal law enforcement priorities that could include changes to marijuana policy.

But Attorney General Jeff Sessions, a staunch drug opponent, nevertheless is considering reversing the Obama administration’s relaxed approach to state legalization, and may resume strictly enforcing federal laws, which still regard all marijuana use as illegal.

But,but Republicans are all about states rights!

Oh, that's right, the only states rights they've cared about is when it has to do with rights to carry concealed guns in public or whenever a state doesn't want to really fund its Obamacare.

It's the gateway drug man. If you eliminate weed then all the other drugs will disappear

Anything that's a substance could become a gateway drug such as alcohol, cigarettes, even in some extreme cases fapping even.

It's all really about when people want to escape reality or some sort of problem they have that they've found is worse when treated with prescriptions either because of its side affects or having to afford health insurance first and see a doctor before you can even start to receive a prescription for said issue in which you would have to then pay good money for on top of the fact that you pay for the health insurance and a co-pay when you see your doctor everytime in order to continually refilled it .

Lets put it this way, in the real world, the reason heroin is really an issue outside of those who did it to escape or for fun and ended up addicted is that heroin is far more effective and cheaper than pain killers.

Furthermore, some people get scared thinking of smoking weed instead of taking heroine as to why they chose heroine in a lot of cases before even marijuana because you can conceal that you use it far easier because its easy to just get the kind you shoot up and most just do it that way hence no loud smell issue.

Also, think of it this way, if someone was already using opioids they'd continue with what is also an opioid/opiate which is heroin.

Now on the case of those who smoke weed to get high,to feel better, to alter there mood, that can easily be justified because with what kind of cut throat work world we have these days or stressful wreck of an economy no wonder people want to alter their mood because they want to deal with their.

Depression
Anxiety
Panic attacks
Chronic pain (they feel its far far safer than opiates and they don't even have health insurance and a way to get opiates and are turned off by the idea of them anyway)

Plus, to those who are really looking to just get high but can't get marijuana in a way that's safe and legal will find ways to mix other legal herbs and or some how end up addicted to some legal synthetic research chemical or synthetic marijuana like is happening massively in NY or take things that still happen to be entirely legal and mostly safe but that also have no ceiling and can be perfectly well WELL abused like Phenibut that is sold at supplement stores.

What's worse is that in some cases, people will end up resorting to "anything" and I've noticed that under Donald Trump, I see that here in Texas that is supposed to be a super super strict republican state you can now get heavy over the counter DXM tablets without no need of an ID nor are they locked up and its things like Coricidin Cough and Cold and even far worse things sold at Wal-Mart and grocery stores that people abuse when they have nothing else and are desperate.

Not only that, but even at best they'd only then be able to get expensive ass health insurance and then an expensive prescription which will most likely be something terrible such as xanax, ativan, klonopin and also various opiates.

On top of that, legalizing marijuana is extremely beneficial in raising tax revenue, the only real issue I've seen is that for example now Colorado weed is making way into Texas.

But why? Because its legal in only a few states like Colorado, that's why Canada is making their move to legalization the right way so that they can see what'll really happen instead of just creating a situation where law enforcement in non legal parts end up reporting things that anti-marijuana politicians can blow out of proportion.

I don't see why anyone with an IQ of even just 100 would disagree otherwise.
