Mind you, I'm not a Trump supporter. And I'm more specifically talking about people who won't acknowledge other people because of their vote for Trump. I see it on Tinder all the time. It throws up a red flag "Do NOT talk to this pea-brained child, swipe left." And I see it online in forums as well. Do people really actually do this? It's unbelievable.

Yes, that topic about the woman divorcing her Trump supporting husband set me off lol. I mean, my parents are Trump supporters, or at least were before the election. I haven't heard much out of them the last few months, although they're not huge into politics either. I can't even imagine throwing them out of my life for such a stupid thing as who they voted for. They're some of the most caring, amazing people I know. Growing up, I'd have probably classified myself as more of a liberal, but I in no way want to associate with what it has become now.

Like I said, I certainly don't like Trump and don't care for a lot of what he does. But he's our president now, there's nothing we can do about it until 2020. This hysteria is only fueling the tornado. Why create more divisiveness?

The JK Rowling thing was ridiculous in terms of how far people will reach to present a narrative.

Politics are decisive by nature. There isn't anything you can do about that. This election cycle has been one of the most decisive yet. You're going to see this sort of thing and there is nothing you can do with it.

:u I just do my best to separate people from their political viewpoints. But some people make it IMPOSSIBLE.

A great example. One of my favorite authors growing up as well. At least she apologized, though, as stupid as the scenario was surrounding it.

I get that politics are like that. Maybe I have problem with how open people are lol. I hear from the older guys at my work how you never used to talk about politics to people, it was something you kept to yourself. We really need to go back to that system and leave the President bashing to the politicians lol.

REALLY?! I mean sure, if you take issue with certain beliefs, by all means, go ahead and don't date that person. The whole trans issue is a great example of a belief someone might not be cool with going against and therefore wouldn't prefer to date that person. But you won't date someone because of the blanket statement "They support Trump, therefore I won't date them."

There are GOOD Trump supporters, whether you want to believe it or not. You can support Trump and still not believe in all that he believes in I guess is what I'm trying to say. Beliefs are a kind of spectrum, to me at least. It's not black and white. Maybe that's where I take issue with a lot of these blanket statements. *shrugs*

I most certainly am not full of shit. But thanks for bringing trolling into this topic instead of discussing a topic with me like an adult. I know what support means. Like I said, not everything is black and white.

That's what you're implying, bud. You're getting bothered that some women on tinder don't want to date people who have trash opinions.

Meh, maybe I'm just too middle ground to deal with anyone's bullshit hahaha. Or maybe I'm just sick of politics as I sit here talking about it -_- also, Tinder was just one example because I'm currently single and see it there a lot. I didn't mean to imply that at all.

And to me that's downright foolish.

This is the basis of your government and how the country you live in is ran. You should absolutely have opinions on it and talk about it.

If you support Trump you believe in at least some of what he stands for.

If you find someone's political or personal beliefs abhorrent why would you date them?

Trump is none of those things no matter how much you regurgitate that slander.

Can people stop using xenophobic already? It's in the same boat as calling someone a person of color.
