I don't know if you need an amiibo to unlock the Fierce Deity costume for Link, but it looks pretty cool.

I would've thought that would be from the Majora's Mask Link amiibo, but I looked it up and it's not officially supposed to be obtainable yet. The article mentioned using amiibo multiple times to get different effects, so maybe I should try that with the ones I have and see if I get any different shit. Or I could just look up what all of them do but where's the fun in that

Do you have the Wolf Link amiibo? That has a pretty cool effect in BotW. It came with Twilight Princess HD.

Yeah, I just bought it standalone, which I didn't even know you could do until I did it. While TPHD would be a nice addition to the collection, I already have it on GC and Wii so I didn't really know if it's worth it. WWHD is an awesome remaster though

It was worth it for me because I'd never played TP with a real controller before. It's not as big an improvement overall as WWHD was but it still made enough small changes to make it a solid improvement, not just counting the graphics.

The Wii version was so not fun that I didn't even finish it. I played it after already playing SS so the controls seemed like a huge downgrade. I knew it wasn't going to control like SS, but I heard so many people who complain about SS act like TP was a better use of the Wiimote that I had to check it out. And it was the only way to play it widescreen at the time, but I found that alone isn't enough to choose it over the GC version.

I don't know who I want to win. On the one hand, seeing Floyd's record go down in an absurd exhibition would be cool. On the other hand, this is probably Mayweather's last fight either way so maybe if he humiliates McGregor really badly, then we can stop hearing from both of them. But Conor McGregor is probably going to maintain his popularity regardless so I guess it would just be better if he wins

I remember learning during the Pacquiao fight that bars legally have to purchase the fight for each person in the bar, which is their fire code capacity or something. So pay per view really rakes in the dough. Also I think the live seats get exponentially expensive. The ringside ones cost a ton because celebrities will happily pay exorbitant amounts to be seen there

I read somewhere, that if they have a boring fight that goes all rounds and gets a non-unanimous decision from the judges, they both get the max payout. so that's probably what will happen

I think that pitchers are like the rare few old, good nfl QBS who can play until an old age, like brett or peyton, who played until their 40s, except pitchers have to move less. as long as they can still throw, they can still play. still largely a mental game too I think? idk

Bartolo is a rare breed to have lasted this long. One of a kind really. Yes in general pitchers can get by as fat guys, but it's getting less and less common to see fat guys at all. They're more on the husky side if anything instead of being outright obese like Colon is.

The only way that would happen is if it was rigged for Floyd to scrape out a tough win (he won't ruin his legacy by losing and Conor can still come away looking stong), otherwise I think their egos are too large and they'll just go for the knockout. Conor can make back whatever money he loses in promotional stuff after the fight if he wins.

I watched a Colon postgame interview about a month ago after he won a game, and he doesn't really speak english, and he used a translator. I thought it was really cool that he's played this long in the MLB and still speaks his mother tongue

Did any of you guys ever play Half-Life 2? I didn't finish it for the first time until last year, so I already knew well about all the (Episode) 3 hoopla. In that sense I wasn't really able to be disappointed by the lack of a continuation, but it would be nice to get another game.

It's kind of stupid they didn't continue it since it ended on a cliffhanger. I don't quite understand why some people want Portal 3 though since IIRC Portal 2's ending pretty much wrapped up the story.

Well I would never say no to more Portal. Those games are so good. I don't know why they stopped making Half-Life though. They have the resources to make it whenever they want and it would be huge news to see it return. So many people would be happy and you only have to do one more and end it!

Of all the unpredictable things though, we are honest to god getting a Shenmue 3. So nothing is impossible.

I only played a little bit of Half-Life but it felt so dated to me that I got bored. And I know I'm crazy, but I beat Portal and wasn't really impressed, so I guess those games aren't my thing.

That doesn't mean I want them to stop making those games though. If people want it, let them have it, I say.

Me neither, although if the implication was that it would further be at HL3's expense, I'm not sure I'd want to see it. Actually, Portal is probably better tbh; it just makes less sense to do. Obviously what they should do is just make HL3 and have it tie the games together.

Are you talking about the first of those series, or just the series in general? I haven't played the first Half-Life, but the first Portal I think was originally just a bonus inclusion for The Orange Box so that's why it's so short. Portal 2 is more interesting and substantial as a standalone game.

The only thing that felt dated to me about HL2 was the health, but then again I don't really play many FPS, so what do I know. Armor regeneration has its own issues too. Overall the gameplay is more like an action-adventure game with FPS and puzzle elements. I think it picks up in enjoyment a lot when you get the gravity gun, since shooting things with normal weapons isn't necessarily as satisfying as with a "traditional" FPS, but that's not the point.

I was trying to watch the boxing match on very official and legal streams but they kept uh...pausing and buffering and what not. It wasn't until the 6th round that I found another legal stream, but by then McGregor was already gassed and Mayweather was taking advantage. It's a shame, too, because from the bits I saw early on, it looked like there was some good action. McGregor was actually throwing some good punches.
