Are you afraid of North Korea?

Please..

I have seen their "glorious" leader, few times in the news, now. That alone should answer the question pretty well. No matter how many big missiles they are supposedly having.

Ugh... ridiculous.

Obviously North Korea doesn't have 100s of missiles that they can launch on US cities.

Anyway we would have no choice for the shit to get real on North Korea if it did start getting that far.

'Capable' being the key word there. Realistically, they have a far greater chance of accidentally nuking themselves.

Besides, if NK ever did anything to the US or Japan, they would be utterly decimated so quickly that it isn't even funny. Nobody is more aware of this fact than Kim Jong Un. NK has followed the same basic outline for decades now. They make a big fuss, the civilized world gives them some extra humanitarian aid, and they go back to being 'friendly' for a few months. If they ever actually tried to attack someone, KJU would be out of power after a righteous ass fisting, and a tyrant in power's main goal is to stay in power.

TL;DR: North Korea wants attention and the rewards that come with it, not an actual fight. Don't worry about them.

This.

First off, just because we are comfortably on our asses in the US, that doesn't mean they couldn't bomb any of our allies or bases, including the obvious below them.

Second, I highly doubt we would retaliate with a nuke, at least right away, considering how many brainwashed innocents live there and how it would impact our relationship with China.

This topic reeks of ignorance and privledge.

Don't look now, but Mr. College Educated can't even spell "privilege" right.

fwiw, i expect we probably would use tactical nuclear weapons to disable the rest of their arsenal/artillery pieces in the event of NK hostile action. the US and NATO in general have not ruled out first strike

but i doubt NK will initiate hostilities.

Good point. I'm admittedly not too familiar with the range of our nuclear capabilities so I when I think "nuke," my mind goes straight to a massive blast over a large area.

The real reason tactical nukes never caught on, is because there's just too big a risk, over just using ludicrous conventional weapons like daisy cutters, bunker busters, and MOABs.

tactical nuclear weapon is probably the wrong term.

in event of NK hostilities i would expect us to launch multiple SRBMs from a variety of sites, some hidden and some not, likely within a few seconds or minutes of the attack. purpose being to destroy any further capacity of theirs to harm SK/Japan.

things like their artillery field and any underground bunkers thought to contain nuclear weapons would be the target.

it would still be a 'huge blast' and MOABs just are not likely to cut it in such a scenario. but i doubt we'd be targeting industrial capacity or population centers.

I am actually. Especially since it would be totally in Kim Jong Un's character to "draw first blood". Sure he'll be decimated after he starts, but the damage that will have been done will be devastating for whoever is unfortunate enough to have been hit.
