If they uphold the standards for the role and not a lower standard for females. In an actual combat role there should be no difference in standard.

From the standpoint of absolute min/maxed military effectiveness, probably not.

From the standpoint of equality, they should be allowed to, but only if they meet all of the standard requirements the men do for whatever they are applying to (be it combat or non-combat). But women should probably be eligible for the draft as well, since men have to register to be able to vote.
