I imagine most super-strict cops would cite their own kid because they know ahead of time the punishment is only going to be like 40 hours community service and no criminal record.

This depends on the mother or father not just the cop. Hard to say. I wouldn't be surprised to hear if it happens. Lots of their kids are held to stricter guidelines. Others at the same time are treated fairly and equally. And then a large portion fucking get away with everything because they're related to a cop.
