In this case, I personally can't agree or disagree. While I've seen this term "bodied" before, it's only been on this board in politics-oriented topics, so I haven't felt compelled to look up what it means.

To Deadpool - the guy saying Trump supporters are evil or stupid: can you specify your hatred from these types?

1) The guy who supported Trump early on in the presidency to beat his opponents in the primaries
2) The guy who only had two options on election day: Trump or Clinton and voted Trump
3) The guy who now has to live with a Trump presidency and chooses to support Trump in getting certain laws changed / passed / appealed

Because guy 2 is fine to me as this topic is rooted in context: many found Clinton completely untrustworthy, secretive, and corrupt and took the only other option that wasn't her: Trump. They weren't supporting Trump to be that only option but as it was they settled for it over Clinton.

Guy 3 in my mind seems way more practical than to the alternative of lefty people constantly yelling for Trumps impeachment day in and day out. Trump is our president until 2020 guaranteed and we could appeal to him to do certain things. Guy 3 is most likely a Bernie supporter who didn't show up to vote on election day, and now hopes some goal or agenda of Trump most aligned with their views can happen within 4 years. Way more useful stance than violent rhetoric that actually led to a faux-beheading of Trump.

It's funny because I've always been against trump, but I have things in common with all 3 of these guys.

1) I supported trump to win the Republican nomination because I found his opponents more offensive than him (except maybe rand Paul was he was never really a contender). Trump wasn't spouting religious horseshit like the others and I figured he'd piss people off and lose the election.

2) I agree here. I don't fault hillary haters for voting trump. "I hate this person more than their opponent." Fair. That's why I voted hillary. That's why they voted trump. No problem here.

3) well... Bernie was my favorite among all candidates, so that is what I have in common with #3, but I would never trust trump to actually do useful things. I'm not calling for impeachment either.

I don't hate them. I have stupid friends. It's just harder to be friends with people dumber than you. Equals make more interesting friends.

With that said, I was talking about guy 4, the guy who supports Trump. Because that was what the original post was about.

Buyer's remorse is great. I encourage it. But on one hand, if at any point you thought Trump was a good choice... I mean, it has been abundantly obvious he isn't. It wasn't some sort of super clever mastermind type of lies that they told, it was simple, clear, easily recognizable bullshit. If you fell for it, that was dumb.

On the other hand... I was raised Catholic. The mythology might be bullshit but I'm a big believer in forgiveness. We have all done stupid things in the past. Shit happens.

On the gripping hand... Forgiveness comes after repenting, not before. You gotta own your mistakes and accept the consequences. I see a lot of making excuses which isn't really conducive to not doing dumb shit again.

Which certain laws changed/passed/appealed? Just out of curiosity, In wondering what has he done that was agreeable...

I'm not saying someone has to disagree with Trump on literally every word he says. I'm sure he's said the sky is blue at some point, and I agree with him there.

But if you think his administration is a net positive to the country... That's plain ignorance. Willful, or otherwise. And it's harder to be friends with someone like that.

They were gonna move more jobs without the deal.

So the best jab you had was pointing out that Carrier is laying off more people than they promised....while unemployment has dropped from 4.8% to 4.4%.

And for this you believe people who support Trump are either evil or stupid.

And you wonder why people are calling you a child

Best? Oh no. Squandering money is peanuts to what he does. It was just the funniest.

I mean the money spent on keeping the jobs... It'd be cheaper if we just paid the workers their salaries out of taxes.

You seem to be under the impression I'm trying to convince you of something... I'm not. This isn't an argument. It was a lesson. You all wanted to know why people think your political stance strains friendships and I explained why.

The rest is just for my amusement.

Oh so your problem is that he's spending too much money. Well then you'll be glad to know that his budget cuts around $54 billion per year!

Yeah, people like you are scrambling so hard to justify your saltiness because of a few hundred jobs and not giving free money to China.

I mean, wow, if that were really your parameters for having such a low opinion of Trump supporters then you must have a REALLY low opinion of Obama supporters!
