Randomly came up to me and tried to talked to me like he knew me. Gave me some sob story about he can't afford his groceries and brought up religion to try to make me feel guilty. I told him I didn't have cash and he then pestered me to pay with debit for his entire bill. Wtf

My favorite was this old geezer sitting outside of a post office and he gave me sob story about not being able to pay his electric. He was wearing a Vietnam veteran cap and I asked him about it and he said he was in the navy stationed in virginia and maryland. I asked him what base and he kept dodging the question making me believe he was a fraud. He also kept calling me soldier when I was clearly wearing an air force uniform lmao

Doesn't happen too often to me but when it does I generally just say "Nah, sorry man" and keep walking.

I might be willing to buy a meal or something but they always just want change or cash, either that or they straight up ask for "money for cigarettes"

Just tell the store manager. A lot of stores don't allow panhandlers.

There are TONS of shelters and non-profits here that help these people. All they have to do is go ask for help there.


Yeah I've never actually bought a meal for them. I'd just possibly be open to it.

The cops in my area actually tell people not to give them anything, and instead to do what you're doing.
