I think it's just the way the lighting engine in Frostbite is now and the way they go for more vibrant colors and stuff as well.

What sucks about it? And it's DICE's own in house engine so it's not like they chose and paid for some shitty 3rd party engine. They built their own from the ground up to do what they wanted it to do.

Frostbite is a good engine for Battlefield, and I have no problem with it in that regard. The real problem starts when EA starts forcing other developers like BioWare to use the engine. It clearly didn't work very well for games like Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect Andromeda.

Even browns looked grey. And if there was any grass it was so glossy it looked like glass
