I think the biggest problem right now is the out-of-control costs of medicine in general. Doctors themselves also go into quite a bit of debt which is never a good thing.

We should be incentivizing people to become doctors, not actively punish them and then force them to require large salaries.

single payer healthcare doesn't address the insane costs and the other problems within healthcare

for example, single payer doesn't address the issue of how many obese people are literally weighing down the system with insane costs. or the fact that america is becoming more obese.

the issue needs to be resolved, but having a government throw money at the problem and raise taxes in perpetuity to pay for it is not a solution.

Government gets to dictate who can receive medical care, so don't worry too much when you're 50 and break your hip. The government will just deny a replacement so you don't have to worry about the cost.
