Things like this are why people think you need to make 60k/year to support yourself. People just spend their money irresponsibly, like paying 200$ for a clothing item that was produced for 10$ or less.

I don't care if my boyfriend decides to wear $10 jeans as long as it means he washes them more than once a month...

And guys with better looking bods can wear cheaper jeans and still look great, because they don't neglect leg day (which is what actually makes their ass look good...not the fabric around it).

This is something I hate. If you are stripped for cash, yes do not buy expensive stuff. But clothes and sneakers are my passion so I dump a ton of money into it. And the cost to make is really irrelevant. And 200 is not even that much tbh.

Ultimately with most clothes there's actually very little that's visibly discernible between cheap and expensive to the outside viewer.

My old store I worked at sold the Kayanos, tbh the gel thing is not all that great when compared to the newer tech that is out there these days. I am a hardcore Adidas wearer now lol, switched from Nike. And yes I do believe you need to rep one brand, mixing brands is a no no, or at least have an outfit from only one brand then another from another brand.

Adidas Climachill T-Shirt Black - 50

I'm a bargain shopper when it comes to clothes. I mediate that by keeping a gym bod and it works.

I just buy one pair of expensive brown or black waterproof leather shoes for grunt work throughout the year. They're durable and meant to get dirty. They look like boots, but they're actually slip-ons which I prefer.

Then I gradually buy 4-6 cheapy pairs of shoes for $10-15 each. They give me a reason to have fun shoe shopping in departments stores while I'm there for something else. Sometimes I can find a great looking $25+ pair marked down to that lower range because they want to get rid of them and that can happen several times a year. Having the assortment of cheap shoes lets me color coordinate them with my clothes and occasionally replace a pair at a low cost. If any of them lack enough inner padding, I just buy cushioned insoles for $2-3 each.

Growing up in rural farming areas, I avoided wearing shoes with bright or white trim because they would get gunked up by the end of the week. Now that I live on the edge of a city bordering the farmlands, my shoes stay much cleaner and only need an occasional wipe down after rainy days. And having multiple pairs lowers the amount of grime each pair collects.

The leather work shoes usually last to 3-4 years of punishment and don't start to look like crap until the final year. Meanwhile my cheap shoes continue looking brand new because they're not taking that punishment. So as far as my friends and colleagues have mentioned, I still look good without spending a ton of money on labels. Although I will admit the gym results cause people to focus more on my physique and I date men exclusively (who usually don't care about shoes if they like the rest of you).

$150 sneakers is actually a pretty standard benchmark for when you start getting into slightly higher priced sneakers. That will buy you a pair of Kent Wangs:

Refer to post #31. I don't think there's anything wrong with you buying Pumas if that meets your expectations. But if you're asking why someone would pay more for sneakers, the reason generally boils down to "because I couldn't find what I was looking for at a lower price point".

Me, I rarely paid more than 30$ CND for a pair of jeans.
A lot of my clothes are bought used and many of these are known brands. I pay 5$ for a 30$ t-shirt and 10$-20$ for a 80-150$ pair of jeans. I'm not into fashion and I'm not too fond of paying too much for clothes. I do have 170$ boots, thought. And my 500$ glasses are a prescription.

yeah I was gonna say this. Unless you make like $200K+ a year you shouldn't be spending $200 on a pair of jeans imo. I'm not in the business of telling people what to wear but I laugh at the fact that there are people out there making $15/hr (or whatever) and buying jeans that cost 1/4 of their paycheck. Any girl that is gonna fuck you because you have tore up skinny jeans on is a fucking THOT anyway (I hate using that word but it applies here, they are after your money if they fuck you based on your jeans).

if you're wearing $200 jeans you might as well blow $500 on some Balmains or Tru's because anyone wearing them is gonna "outshine" you. It is like getting a Challenger RT because you feel insecure and want to go fast, and then someone pulls up to you in a McLaren and you feel like you just wasted about 50 grand.

I personally think the current trend of tight ass jeans that look torn up needs to go though, you have REAL GANGSTERS like FBG Duck etc wearing that weak ass shit. 10 years ago if someone pulled up to their hoods with that shit on they'd be calling them gay.

Also I have a lot of Polos but that is because I have to wear them to work. I don't wear them outside of work very much.
