No, each character has 3 specific quickenings unique to them. Learn them as soon as you want.

Is this Zodiac Age? Because if so then from what I've read there are four per class board, with different abilities behind them so you have to pick which one you want least. No idea how that interacts with the second class thing either.

Pretty sure he's talking about IZJS, in which case I don't think this is good advice. I haven't played it myself but I know people are making a big deal about it. From what I gather each character has four quickening licenses, of which you can take three.

The trick, I gather, is that each quickening license has goodies locked behind it, and sometimes they're a really damn big deal. Supposedly the best thing to do is to wait until you have both jobs, then analyze who benefits from taking what. Same applies to summons. Someone who's actually played can confirm, I guess.

Every board has 4 Quickening slots - 50, 75, 100, 125 JP. When you unlock the 50JP quickening on one board, it will also unlock the same quickening on the second board; same for 75, 100, etc. You can only choose to unlock 3 of the 4.

Some quickenings have abilities locked behind them, so it would behoove you to wait until you get your second job (or look at the boards ahead of time) and figure out what abilities you want to determine the three quickening slots you unlock for each character.

I don't usually complain about amiibo functionality, but apparently the Metroid amiibo in Samus Returns unlocks a harder difficulty mode that can only be played after beating the game.

The fuck? Isn't that the kind of thing you would normally unlock just by beating the game? If it was just something that acted as a shortcut to the unlock letting you play it right away that would be fine, but that's just stupid.

I'm not sure if I'll ever leave this hallway area in FF12. I'm talking about right after you save Ashe and get her into your party, you leave that room and are assaulted by like 100 guys constantly, but you can quickly go back and save/heal whenever you want. And with 4x speed and vossler there it makes it even easier to grind

man you guys are making me regret not pulling the trigger on the psn pre-order. i know alex of gb loves it, so when he eventually talks it up on the beastcast, i'm probably gonna end up buying and playing through all of it over the weekend! will have to buy a psn card, so i'll pick up another game that's on sale.

also hey nioh continues to be incredibly satisfying, especially now that i've unlocked a lot of skills for the two weapons i primarily use. love just cleaving through single enemies with my odachi. kusarigami is awesome too for stunlocking and quickly dispatching mobs. the second dlc just dropped too, and the tonfa look fun as fuck to use. and i still have all the other weapon classes to try!

Real Emotion is getting delisted from Theatrhythm:CC on Monday. Make sure you get it while you still can!!

Also the Pyre talk on the Bombcast this week made the game sound pretty interesting, but is a pretty big jump from my initial reaction of not caring at all.

I played some dq11 last night. probably won't do much more - just wanted to get a sense of what the 3ds version was about. spoilers: ps4 version is the way to go.

I don't think it's the gameplay. I'm crushing teams even with maxed Titan (difficulty modifer) bonuses using tactics I learned playing NHL '94. It's not very satisfying. The rites are just an avenue to get more out of the characters and the world.

Pamitha with the talisman that gives you back all your stamina when you touch the orb = dunk city

Think I'd prefer to play it on the 3DS. The streetpass stuff looks awesome.

oh man i'm already struggling with just having the one titan modifier on where the enemies react faster. pamitha is definitely op with that talisman. just flying over everybody!

without the modifier, it has been a cakewalk.

also did two liberation rites. had to restart that last one two times because i suck and don't want to fail haha.

but yeah the story and the characters are just grabbing me in a way that bastion never did. i'll probably play it multiple times just to see how the narrative changes. might be my goty frontrunner too if it keeps this pace or gets even better!

Who'd you liberate?

I went with Ti'zo and Hedwyn. . . . . . . I was trying to steer the game in another direction for the second Rite but wasn't able to, and I felt awful about losing who I did.

i have to see how the rest of the game goes with the second one you liberated. that one and the other initial member will probably stay with me to the end unless i feel the story absolutely calls for them to be up for freedom.

already excited to see how it all plays out liberating people in a different order! second playthrough, i will definitely keep going win or lose. might even go for a run where i lose every match haha.

Haha, man. I can't imagine the game without Rukey. . . . . . . After the first Liberation Rite I learned a lot about that character, and I wanted to liberate them right when I learned their backstory, but then you learn about The Plan and I decided to go in the direction I did the second time around.

Er, to be more specific, you learn about The Plan before the first Liberation Rite, but the character who devised The Plan mentioned something about evaluating each character's ability to contribute towards The Plan before the second Rite, and that's what swung me.

if you have someone to play it with, it is great fun. but i think it's best with 3-4 people because it is difficult, unless they tuned it down.

great game. current goty right now as it's really fresh. we'll see if it holds up with repeat playthroughs! its only real competition though is nier.

Just finished the last challenge mode in Superhot - had a lot of fun with it!

Also finally finished the last E level in N++. X levels are ridiculous, though.
